The White Elephant Club
Located at 28 Curzon Street, the White Elephant Club was a private dining restaurant & bar, frequented by Hollywood stars, It girls and high society, renouned as 'the' place to be seen in the 70’s and 80’s established by the renowned and respected actor and socialite Leslie Linder.
John Aspinall acquired the premises from his friend Antonio Mancini the current owner. He re-developed 27 & 28 Curzon Street into the Aspinalls Club, later becoming Crown London Aspinalls. The brass elephant still welcomes members at the front door and is a nod to the premises history and John Aspinall’s passion for conservation. Very few enter the premises without first rubbing the elephants head for good luck.

Aspinalls
The late John Aspinall was a charismatic and influential figure, renowned within the London gaming establishment. He was instrumental in the passing of the Betting and Gaming Act of 1960 that opened the door for legalised casinos and a founding member of the Claremont set.
For the next three decades, Aspinalls’ name became synonymous with premium gaming and exclusivity.
